My name is Joshi George and I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon with trauma and complex spine expertise.
I am a fully qualified neurosurgeon, trained to perform operations like removing clots and tumours from the brain and dealing with very complex spine problems.
Most neurological problems, fortunately do not require surgery. For many other problems, surgery remains an option, as opposed to a necessity.
But there are of course, a few conditions which will require surgery.
I have trained for more than 20 years, on three continents, to do these operations to a world class standard.
I have a special interest in neurological trauma and have trained in specialist centres in trauma like the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and the Royal London Hospital. My research degree from the University of London was on neurological trauma.
Having been on the faculty of Sports Medicine at the University of London, I continue to treat performance athletes and professional sportspeople.
Cancer of the spine and complex reconstructive spine surgery are other areas of expertise having gained training for this at the University of Toronto.
I am the Clinical Director for Neurosurgery in Manchester and have the privilege of leading a team of 27 highly skilled neurosurgeons.
Current national roles include being the Spine Lead for the Society of British Neurological Surgeons.
